BREAKING NEWS: P1.2-M worth of shabu seized in Cagayan de Oro today!
CAGAYAN DE ORO - Authorities seized P1.2 million worth of suspected shabu in two separate drug buy-bust operations in Cagayan de Oro City on Wednesday.
Couple Pio and Leonor Saren were arrested by operatives from the Cagayan de Oro Police Detective Management Desk in their residence in Barangay Bonbon.
The couple turned their house into a drug den, police said. Also arrested during the buy-bust were live-in partners Elvis Talasan and Loren Baal.
The four arrested suspects were included in the city's drugs watch list.
Police recovered five sachets of suspected shabu with a street value of about P200,000. Also seized were the buy-bust money used in the transaction, According to the police, the gun belongs to a certain Mars Gomal, who was with the suspects during the arrest.
Police said Gomal is a known gun-for-hire.
Meanwhile, authorities rescued three minors being used as drug runners in a buy-bust operation conducted in Barangay Balulang.
The police recovered suspected shabu worth about P1 million.
One of the minors denied knowing they were transporting illegal drugs.
The police are tracking the parents of the minor, identified as Sailanie Abdullah at Zoraida Adilao.drug paraphernalia and a caliber .45 pistol with ammunition.
Also arrested was Miguela Bermoy, who served as aide for the couple.
The arrested suspects will face charges for violation of the Dangerous Drugs Act. Meanwhile, the rescued minors will be turned over to the Department of Social Welfare and Development.
