While Senator Leila de Lima is crying harassment, Senator Panfilo “Ping” Lacson just wants her to answer the illegal drug allegations against her, plain and simple.
“Pang-harass man o hindi ang pinakaimportante masagot niya. Napakahirap i-ignore ang lumabas na testigo sa HOR (House of Representatives) kasi may pagkakatugma,” Lacson said in an interview on DWIZ radio Saturday, September 24.
Lacson was referring to the recent Congressional inquiry wherein inmate-witnesses from the New Bilibid Prison (NBP) and even the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) implicated De Lima in the intricate illegal drug trade within the penal facility.
One of the allegations was that De Lima used drug money to fund her Senate bid earlier this year.
“Maski preso ang iba roon, pero may dalawa NBI bakit, anong motibo ng dalawa NBI na magpahayag na nagdala ng pera sa kanya on two occasions, I think November and December, tig-P5 million. I-address niya dapat,” stressed Lacson, a former Philippine National Police (PNP) chief.
The NBI is an attached agency of the Department of Justice (DOJ), which De Lima used to head as secretary.
“Maraming issue na di mo pwede basta i-dismiss. Hina-harass na kung hina-harass, pero kung may ebidensya at may basehan ang ginagawang sabihin nating pagha-harass kailangan talaga masagot,” Lacson further said.
De Lima had earlier branded the House inquiry as a sham, since it was led by allies of her nemesis, President Rodrigo Duterte. [source]
