Duterte Looking Forward To Work Mutually Responsible With Obama

It can be recalled when President Duterte is about to leave for Laos, he gave his strong comments regarding to U.S. President Barack Obama.
On the latter part of his speech, Duterte stated that the Americans never said sorry for conquering and attacking the Philippines decades ago.
Unfortunately, those strong comments of Duterte about Obama have been twisted by International media.
As soon as President Obama cancelled his meeting with Duterte, President Rodrigo Duterte said that he’s hoping to iron out their differences as well as to work mutually responsible with U.S. President Barack Obama.
Here’s the actual Duterte’s statement:
The meeting between the United States and the Philippines has been mutually agreed upon to be moved to a later date.
While the immediate cause was my strong comments to certain press questions that elicited concern and distress, we also regret it came across as a personal attack on the U.S. President.
Our primary intention is to chart an independent foreign policy while promoting closer ties with all nations, especially the US with which we have a had a long standing partnership.
We look forward to ironing out differences arising out of national priorities and perceptions, and working in mutually responsible ways for both countries.
