Following the strong statements of President Rodrigo Duterte against the European Parliamentary who recently released a statement urging the PH authorities to have an immediate investigation on the rising toll of deaths related to illegal drugs, Sen. Grace Poe also had something to say to the EU.
In an interview with DZBB, the former presidential aspirant addressed United Nations and European Union to study the Philippine context before condemning Rodrigo Duterte. She urged the UN and EU to not just rely on media reports.
"Wag lang kayo mag condemn, wag lang kayo magbigay ng statement na ganyan. They should also study, ano bang pruweba ninyo na nangyayari lahat yan? Is it just based on statements na ilang libo na ang extra judicial killings victims?" she said.
This was her reaction after Human Rights council Zeid Ra'ad Al Hussein said: "Empowering police forces to shoot to kill any individual whom they claim to suspect of drug crimes, with or without evidence, undermines justice. The people of the Philippines have a right to judicial institutions that are impartial and they have a right to a police force that serves justice,"
"If they care for our country, okay lang, that's their right. Hayaan mo lang sila, dapat naman talaga may pakialam tayo sa lahat ng komunidad sa buong mundo kung may katotohanan talk. Basta hindi natin inaabdicate ang ating territorial intergrity, national sovereignity,"Poe added. [source]
