In an interview of GMA News TV’s “State of the Nation with Jessica Soho” to Mayor Sara Duterte, she said that she was “afraid” for her father.
Sara Duterte said that at first, she did not want her father to run and win because of the attention and burden of the presidency. But she said the whole family is always there to support him.
But kami nandito lang kami to support him, kasi nandyan na he,” she said.
“Pero ako what I really am, I'm afraid for him.”
“Hindi kami sanay na buong bansa, ganon. So, ano lang, adjustment lang siguro,” she added.
When asked about her duties being the Davao City Mayor, she said that her focus would be on her duties as her father's replacement.
Kung tawagin ako to do something, ready ako,” she said.
Nevertheless, Sara said she was happy that her father won and that she did not expect the outcome of the election.
“Twofold yun, eh. For my mother and my father. Yung half nun para sa kanya, to push him, to say to him na ‘Sinusuportahan na kita na tumakbong president,’” Sara said. [source]
